Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager – Production to lead and oversee end-to-end production operations at our manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, process optimization, quality compliance, manpower management, productivity improvement, cost control, and achieving organizational production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Lead overall plant production operations and ensure achievement of daily, monthly, and annual production targets.
- Develop and implement production plans to maximize plant efficiency and capacity utilization.
- Monitor production schedules, yields, wastage, downtime, and productivity metrics.
- Ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and timely dispatches.
Process Improvement & Productivity
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and best industry practices.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and reduce costs.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards, GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, and company quality requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop production managers, supervisors, and plant workforce.
- Establish performance goals and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Maintenance & Safety
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are effectively implemented.
- Enforce workplace safety standards and statutory compliance requirements.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage production budgets.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, and raw materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of rice milling, food processing, manufacturing operations, and plant management.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Experience Requirements
- 15–20 years of experience in Production/Plant Operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Plant Head, Production Head, AGM Production, or GM Production.
- Experience in Rice Milling, Agro Processing, Food Manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries preferred.
