Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Engineer/Manager in carrying out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and utility systems.
- Attend machine breakdowns promptly and assist in restoring production with minimum downtime.
- Perform routine inspections of machines, tools, electrical systems, and utility equipment.
- Help maintain compressors, air lines, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
- Assist in electrical and mechanical maintenance work as assigned.
- Replace worn or damaged machine parts under the guidance of senior maintenance personnel.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the maintenance workshop and plant maintenance areas.
- Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment are cleaned, organized, and stored properly after use.
- Record maintenance activities, machine breakdown details, and completed work in maintenance logs.
- Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and report stock requirements to the Maintenance Department.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and support equipment calibration activities where applicable.
- Comply with all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and use the prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and recurring machine issues to the Maintenance Engineer.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Stores departments to complete maintenance work efficiently.
- Assist external service engineers and contractors during installation, servicing, and annual maintenance activities.
- Support utility maintenance, including DG sets, air compressors, electrical panels, lighting, and water supply systems.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with company policies, ISO standards, and statutory safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce machine downtime.
- Perform any other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Manager, or Management.
