1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage the complete production operations of Gurind India Pvt. Ltd., ensuring optimum productivity, quality, timely dispatches, manpower utilization, machine efficiency, cost control and adherence to safety and company systems.
The Production Manager will be responsible for effectively managing production activities across Glass Cutting, Pre-Processing, Tempering, DGU/IGU, Laminated/Decorative/Printing and other glass processing operations, as applicable.
2. Key Responsibilities
PRODUCTION PLANNING & EXECUTION Plan, schedule and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production as per dispatch requirements. Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned timelines. Coordinate closely with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Dispatch departments. Monitor production performance against targets and take immediate corrective action for deviations. Ensure maximum utilization of available production capacity.
MANPOWER MANAGEMENT Manage production manpower across shifts and ensure proper manpower deployment. Monitor attendance, productivity, overtime and manpower efficiency. Develop and train Shift In-charges, Supervisors and operators. Establish clear accountability and performance standards for the production team. Ensure disciplined working practices across all shifts.
MACHINE & PROCESS EFFICIENCY Ensure maximum machine availability and minimum production downtime. Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Identify recurring machine/process problems and implement permanent corrective actions. Monitor machine utilization, downtime, cycle time and production efficiency. Ensure proper operation and utilization of CNC, cutting, tempering, DGU/IGU and other processing equipment.
QUALITY & PROCESS CONTROL Ensure production is carried out strictly as per approved specifications and quality standards. Work closely with the Quality Department to reduce rejection, rework, breakage and customer complaints. Implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues. Maintain process discipline and ensure adherence to SOPs and Work Instructions.
PRODUCTIVITY & COST CONTROL Drive continuous improvement in production productivity and operational efficiency. Reduce glass breakage, wastage, rework and process losses. Monitor material utilization and yield. Identify bottlenecks and implement measures to improve throughput. Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE Ensure strict compliance with all safety rules, PPE requirements and company policies. Maintain safe working conditions across the production floor. Conduct regular safety awareness and toolbox meetings. Ensure proper handling and storage of glass and production materials. Take immediate action on unsafe practices and conditions.
REPORTING & MIS Prepare and review daily production reports. Monitor key production KPIs including Production vs. Target, Machine Utilization, Downtime, Rejection & Breakage, Productivity, Yield, Manpower Efficiency and Overtime. Present production performance and improvement plans to senior management.

4. Candidate Profile
- B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution. 7–15 years of relevant experience in production/manufacturing operations. Candidates from glass processing or other high-volume manufacturing industries will be preferred. Strong knowledge of production planning, process control and manpower management. Experience in handling multiple production processes and shifts. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and achieve aggressive production targets. Strong communication, coordination and reporting skills. Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/MIS and production reporting systems. Practical understanding of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
5. Leadership Expectations
The candidate must be a hands-on Production Manager capable of managing the shop floor, identifying problems quickly and ensuring timely execution.
The role requires strong ownership, discipline and accountability for production performance, with a clear focus on “Target – Productivity – Quality – Cost – Delivery – Safety.”
