- Machine Setup & Tooling
- Set up VMC machines as per drawings and job requirements
- Select, install, and align cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices
- Program Loading & Verification
- Load CNC programs and verify offsets, tool lengths, and coordinates
- Perform dry runs and first-piece approvals
- Production Accuracy & Quality
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specifications
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary offset corrections
- Process Optimization
- Optimize cycle times, feeds, and speeds to improve productivity
- Reduce setup time and minimize scrap and rework
- Inspection & Measurement
- Use measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, CMM basics)
- Record inspection results and ensure traceability
- Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance
- Identify and resolve common machining or tooling issues
- Safety & 5S Compliance
- Follow shop-floor safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards around the machine
- Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with operators, programmers, and supervisors
- Maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and production records
