Job Title: UI/UX Designer
Location: Bengaluru
Company: Drongo AI
About Us:
Drongo AI is a MedTech enterprise that builds intelligent, cutting edge technology solutions to new-age healthcare challenges in medical imaging. We are passionate about developing innovative solutions that have tangible/high impact.
Job Description:
We are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented UI/UX Designer to design intuitive, high-stakes digital experiences. In this role, you won't just be making screens look beautiful; you will be building interfaces used by surgeons, doctors, lab technicians, and public health officers in environments where visual clarity, speed, and error prevention are genuinely critical.
You will own the end-to-end design process—from wireframing complex clinical workflows to creating polished high-fidelity user interfaces in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of accessibility (WCAG) and design risk mitigation, ensuring that our software minimizes cognitive load and eliminates use errors in high-stress medical environments.
Responsibilities:
1. End-to-End Product Design & Wireframing
- Wireframing & Ideation: Translate complex clinical workflows, multi-step diagnostic processes, and dense data into intuitive, low-fidelity wireframes and user journeys.
2. Design Risk Mitigation & Human Factors Engineering
- Error Prevention: Analyze interfaces through the lens of safety—anticipating potential user mistakes (e.g., a doctor misinterpreting a chart or a technician missing a warning under time pressure) and designing structural UI safeguards to prevent them.
- Cognitive Load Reduction: Structure dense medical records and real-time metrics into logical visual hierarchies so clinicians can make fast, accurate decisions without sensory fatigue.
- Context-Aware Layouts: Account for the unique physical environments of our users (e.g., high-glare operating rooms, dimly lit clinics, or field environments using mobile screens) and input constraints (e.g., touchscreens operated with medical gloves).
3. Accessibility & Compliance
- Inclusive Architecture: Ensure all screens strictly adhere to WCAG accessibility guidelines (high contrast ratios, font scaling, safe target areas, and readable typography from a distance).
- Regulatory Mindfulness: Infuse principles of medical usability frameworks (such as IEC 62366 or FDA Human Factors Guidelines) into early-stage workflows and layout strategies.
4. Testing & Iteration
- Conduct structured cognitive walkthroughs and formative prototype testing with representative users.
- Iterate designs rapidly based on objective feedback from clinical and field testing rather than subjective assumptions.
- High-Fidelity UI Design: Build and maintain scalable design systems, consistent components, and interactive prototypes utilizing Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Developer Handoff: Package designs clearly with precise interaction notes to ensure a seamless build process with the engineering team.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience as a UI/UX Designer. Prior experience in Healthtech, Medical Devices, Life Sciences, or complex, data-heavy B2B dashboards is highly preferred.
- Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
- Accessibility Expertise: A deep, functional understanding of accessibility guidelines and experience designing for diverse user capabilities (including color vision deficiencies).
- Portfolio Evidence: A strong portfolio showcasing clean layout architecture, process-driven UX problem-solving, wireframes, and complex data visualization.
Preferred:
- Basic understanding of medical software usability standards (e.g., IEC 62366-1 or ISO 14971 risk management principles).
- Experience designing for responsive web interfaces as well as specialized mobile, tablet, or embedded device screens.
