We are currently hiring for the position of Engineer – QS & Billing for our Project in Bangalore. This is a great opportunity for professionals with experience in quantity surveying and billing to be part of a growing real estate organization.
Role Summary
The Senior Engineer QS and Billing is responsible for execution-level ownership of quantity surveying, estimation, contractor billing, and certification activities at the project/site level. The role ensures accurate measurement, timely billing, cost tracking, and compliance with contractual and project requirements.
This is a hands-on role focused on translating site execution into accurate quantities, billing, and certification.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Quantity Surveying
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and rate analysis for project activities.
- Develop measurement sheets and BBS (Bar Bending Schedules) based on drawings.
- Verify quantities against drawings and actual site execution.
- Support cost estimation and variation analysis for ongoing works.
- Prepare detailed measurement sheets, BBS, material quantity estimates, and rate analysis for all activities.
2. Billing (RA Bills)
- Receive contractor RA bills and verify them in coordination with site teams.
- Ensure billing is aligned with actual measurable work and contract terms.
- Process RA bills within stipulated timelines.
- Receive contractor RA bills and verify them in coordination with the site team.
- Check quantities against drawings and actual physical progress.
- Ensure RA bills are prepared and processed within stipulated timelines.
- Prepare and maintain Bill Tracker and Debit Tracker for each submission.
- Prepare and maintain Consolidated Activity Tracker for RA Bills where multiple contractors execute the same activity (billed vs balance quantities).
3. Certification & Compliance
- Support certification of contractor bills based on verified quantities.
- Ensure compliance with work order terms, specifications, and contractual conditions.
- Maintain proper documentation for billing and audit purposes.
- Prepare material reconciliation statements and ensure work order compliance.
- Support audits, reconciliations, and final account settlements.
4. Material Control & Cost Tracking
- Validate material indents and specifications in ERP before approvals.
- Track material consumption vs theoretical quantities.
- Monitor cost implications of quantity variations and highlight risks.
- Validate material indents and specifications in ERP before approvals.
- Prepare and maintain updated Work Order Tracker.
- Prepare and update Material Consumption & Procurement Tracker for cost monitoring.
- Highlight risks such as quantity overruns, cost escalations, or billing discrepancies.
5. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with site engineers, QS team, and contractors for measurement and billing activities.
- Ensure timely data flow for billing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Maintain all trackers and MIS related to quantities, billing, and materials.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- 5–10 years of experience in QS, estimation, billing, and certification
- Experience in residential / high-rise / Mivan projects preferred
- Strong ERP and Excel proficiency
