Job Description: Rural Unit Head – Business Development (B2B Sales)
Company: JRL Money (JR Laddha Group)
Location: Kolkata (with regular district travel) | Full-time
Department: Business Development
Reporting To: Directly to the Founder
Compensation: ₹50,000–70,000/month (fixed) + performance-linked variable based on unit KPIs
Experience: 5+ years in B2B mutual fund distribution - not wealth management, not retail broking
Role Overview
The Role You will lead our rural and semi-urban distribution expansion. This means building the partner pipeline, running field operations, coordinating with AMCs, and managing a small field team — all while working closely with the founder. This is a build-from-zero role, not a maintain-and optimise role.

About Us
JRL Money is the mutual fund distribution arm of the JR Laddha Group — a 40+ year old financial services group based in Kolkata. We build and support a network of distribution partners across Bengal who help everyday investors access mutual funds. We're now expanding into semi-urban and rural Bengal and are hiring the person who will own this from the ground up.

What You'll Do
- Identify, approach, and empanel new distribution partners in rural and semi-urban districts of Bengal — primarily insurance agents, postal agents, and other financial intermediaries
- Plan and execute training camps in district locations — venue sourcing, candidate batching, logistics, follow-through on certifications (NISM/BSE)
- Coordinate with AMC regional teams for activation support, scheme collateral, and field visits
- Manage and drive output from a small team of field Relationship Managers — set targets, review daily, hold accountable
- Own the end-to-end empanelment-to-activation funnel: from first meeting to first SIP booked
- Travel to districts 10-15 days/month; remain Kolkata-based
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in B2B mutual fund distribution — not wealth management, not retail broking
- You've personally done grassroots field work — sat in agent offices, done door-to-door, run camps in small towns. Not just managed people who did.
- You carry a small book of your own — size doesn't matter, the fact that you built one does
- You can motivate and hold accountable a young field team without micromanaging
- Stable career history — we value commitment over variety
To Apply: Send your CV and a short note (3-4 lines) on the most successful field campaign you've personally run — what you did, not what your team did. Email: [email protected].
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
Benefits:
Work Location: In person
