As a Lead / Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert for Steam Systems, Energy Conversion, Heat Recovery, Industrial Utilities, and Process Control Systems. You will lead E&I engineering activities, provide technical guidance, support project execution, and deliver efficient, compliant, and innovative engineering solutions.
• Lead Electrical & Instrumentation engineering activities for energy conversion and industrial automation projects.
• Design, review, and approve power distribution, control, instrumentation systems, engineering calculations, specifications, datasheets, drawings, and technical documents.
• Develop control philosophies, I/O architecture, instrumentation layouts, control strategies, and electrical system configurations.
• Perform sizing and selection of switchgear, motors, cables, instruments, panels, and associated electrical components.
• Prepare and review panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and wire harness designs.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, CSA, ATEX, CE, and customer-specific standards.
• Review vendor proposals, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Support manufacturing, testing, FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization activities.
• Participate in customer meetings, site surveys, design reviews, HAZOP/SIL workshops, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Service, and Project Management teams.
• Manage engineering deliverables, project schedules, technical risks, and resource coordination across multiple projects.
• Drive standardization, value engineering, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical capability development within the organization.
• BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design and project execution within Energy, Utilities, Power, Oil & Gas, Process Industries, or Industrial Manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in LV/MV power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, motors, VFDs, soft starters, cable engineering, electrical protection, grounding, earthing, and control panel design.
• Hands-on experience in instrumentation design, process instruments, PLC, SCADA, HMI, industrial communication networks, and automation systems.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety, HAZOP, SIL, interlocks, Cause & Effect matrices, and hazardous area requirements (ATEX/IECEx).
• Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation activities.
• Exposure to Steam Systems, Steam Compression Technologies, MVR, Industrial Heat Pumps, Waste Heat Recovery Systems, Utility Integration, Thermal Process Engineering, Energy Recovery, and Sustainability projects.
• Strong understanding of IEC, ISA, UL, API, NFPA, ISO, CSA, ATEX, IECEx, and CE standards.
• Experience preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables including I/O Lists, Cable Schedules, JB Schedules, Alarm & Trip Lists, Control Narratives, Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effect Matrices, Earthing Layouts, and Instrument/Panel Layouts.
• Proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical, MS Office, and ERP/document management systems. Knowledge of Pro Panel, eBUILD, and Autodesk Inventor is an advantage.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, customer-facing, and project coordination skills.
