As a Technical Writer, you will create clear, concise, and comprehensive high-quality technical documentation for various products of Automation & Communication Product group within Grid Automation Business Unit of Hitachi Energy.

We are looking for a technical writer to join our User Documentation team in Bangalore. You will be part of a highly motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, collaborative, ever-learning team who are proud of their work at Hitachi Energy.
You will be part of the team which creates and maintains technical documentation for various products of Automation & Communication product group within Grid Automation Business Unit of Hitachi Energy.
You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), product managers, engineers, and quality assurance teams to gather information, understand product functionality, and accurately translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable content.
Your work will play a key role in making our technology accessible and usable for internal teams, customers, and partners worldwide.

- Conduct thorough research and analysis to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all documentation.
- Adhere to established documentation standards, style guides, and terminology to maintain a consistent brand voice and quality across all deliverables.
- Review and edit documentation for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and adherence to technical specifications.
- Handling translation co-ordination activities for various languages like German, French, Spanish, Czech, Japanese and others.
- Create / edit images in Visio and Snagit editor.
- Enthusiastically learn AI tools (GPT, Copilot, etc) for authoring and review.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and content quality.
- Participate and identify areas for documentation improvement.
- Utilize various authoring tools, content management systems (CMS), and version control software effectively.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-8 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the energy, industrial automation, or software development sectors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of English grammar, style, and vocabulary.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation for diverse audiences.
- Experience with various documentation tools such as Oxygen XML, or similar.
- Familiarity with DITA XML, preferably Tridion Docs or similar, structured authoring, and component content management systems (CMS) is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex technical concepts and specifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering and power systems will be a significant advantage.
