Job Purpose
To set up, operate, and maintain conventional machine tools (lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, shaping, Cutting, etc.) to produce precision components as per engineering drawings, while ensuring accuracy, safety, and
quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup s Operation
· Set up and operate conventional machines such as lathes, milling, drilling, grinding, and shaping machines.
· Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
· Adjust machine parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) as per job requirements.
2. Machining s Precision Work
· Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, milling, slotting, and grinding operations.
· Machine components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
· Use precision instruments (vernier callipers, micrometres, gauges, dial indicators) to verify part accuracy.
3. Quality s Inspection
· Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets.
· Inspect finished workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications.
· Document inspection results and report deviations.
4. Maintenance s Safety
· Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
· Follow company safety standards and use appropriate PPE.
5. Collaboration s Reporting
· Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams.
· Suggest improvements in machining processes and tooling.
· Maintain job records, production logs, and time sheets.
Qualifications s Experience
· Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Machinist Trade/Tool C die maker or equivalent.
· Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in operating conventional machines.
· Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of conventional machining operations.
o Ability to read mechanical drawings and GDCT.
o Skilled in precision measurement instruments.
· Soft Skills: Attention to detail, problem-solving, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Competencies
· Accuracy and precision in machining.
· Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
· Strong understanding of machining safety practices.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹31,422.16 per month
