Job Summary
The Welding & Grinding Operator is responsible for performing welding, grinding, and finishing operations on metal components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules. The role requires safe operation of welding and grinding equipment while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, ARC (SMAW), and/or TIG welding as per job requirements.
- Grind, smooth, and finish welded joints to meet quality standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Inspect welded parts for defects and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Operate welding machines, angle grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
- Maintain welding equipment and perform basic daily maintenance.
- Follow production schedules and complete assigned work on time.
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S).
- Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with other fabrication and production tasks as assigned.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and/or ARC welding processes.
- Experience using angle grinders and other hand tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as measuring tape, vernier caliper, and steel ruler.
- Good attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Qualifications
- ITI Welder/Fitter, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in welding and grinding (Freshers with relevant training may also be considered).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle metal components safely.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Safety Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Use appropriate PPE, including welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
- Ensure safe handling of welding equipment, gas cylinders, and grinding tools.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
