B-Class (or Second Class) Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment. They ensure optimal steam generation by controlling fuel/air ratios, maintaining water levels, conducting water treatment, and adhering to strict safety regulations and logbook documentation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- System Monitoring & Control: Constantly monitor boiler pressure, temperature, water levels, and combustion efficiency using gauges, meters, and computer systems.
- Operational Adjustments: Adjust valves, fuel feeds, and draft fans to maintain proper steam pressure based on load demand.
- Water Treatment: Manage water softening and chemical dosing systems to prevent scale buildup and corrosion.
- Maintenance & Inspection: Perform daily inspections, routine lubrication, cleaning of heating surfaces, and removal of ash.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols (LOTO), verify safety valve function, and respond immediately to alarms or dangerous conditions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of operational data, water test results, and maintenance activities.
Typical Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Class Boiler Operator License/Certificate.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Knowledge of high-pressure boiler systems and auxiliary equipment.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
