Role Description
The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliation. The role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring strict compliance with relevant accounting standards and local tax regulations.
The Senior Accountant will oversee inventory-related accounting for wholesale dry fruits, assist with budgeting, and provide financial analysis and reports to management for decision-making. Responsibilities also include coordinating with external auditors, improving internal controls, and maintaining accurate financial documentation. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, requiring regular collaboration with operations, sales, and management teams.

Salary: Up to ₹25,000 per month (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), and monthly bank reconciliations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and finalize accurate financial statements and balance sheets; monitor and manage daily/monthly cash flow.
Taxation & Compliance: Handle the complete, end-to-end process of GST, TDS, and Professional Tax (P-Tax), including calculation, deduction, online payment, and timely return filing.
Inventory & Costing: Oversee inventory-related accounting specifically tailored for a wholesale trading operation.
Audit & Analysis: Coordinate directly with external auditors for statutory audits, maintain immaculate financial records, and prepare monthly management reports (MIS) to support budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. Professional certifications (CA Inter / ICWA or equivalent) will be highly advantageous.
Taxation Expertise: Hands-on, practical experience in GST filing, TDS deduction & return filing, and Professional Tax (P-Tax) compliance.
Core Knowledge: Strong command over financial accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial statement finalization.
Software Proficiency: Excellent hands-on experience with Tally Prime / ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
Industry Experience: Prior experience in the wholesale trading, distribution, or FMCG sectors is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, clear communication skills, and absolute professional integrity.
