Role Summary
The Site Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for installation supervision, pre-commissioning checks, commissioning, performance trials and troubleshooting of systems supplied by the company.
The engineer will work with electrical panels, motors, field instruments, burners, fans, valves, sensors, utility connections and mechanical equipment at customer sites.
The role will primarily focus on electrical systems and controls, followed by an understanding of the industrial process and basic mechanical systems.
The engineer should be capable of independently identifying site-level issues, coordinating with the customer and internal design teams, and ensuring that the equipment is commissioned safely and successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules and equipment manuals before starting site work.
- Verify that equipment, motors, instruments, control panels and accessories have been installed according to approved drawings.
- Check field cabling, cable routing, termination, earthing and equipment identification.
- Verify motor power connections, control wiring and motor rotation.
- Check wiring between field instruments, junction boxes, local panels and PLC/control panels.
- Inspect the installation of sensors, transmitters, switches, actuators, solenoid valves and local indicators.
- Verify utility connections such as electrical power, compressed air, fuel gas, fuel oil, water and nitrogen, wherever applicable.
- Prepare and complete pre-commissioning checklists.
- Identify installation deviations and coordinate their correction with the customer, contractor and internal project team.
- Read and understand electrical circuit diagrams, control panel drawings, single-line diagrams and termination drawings.
- Perform continuity checks, insulation-resistance checks and basic electrical testing.
- Verify incoming power supply, phase sequence, voltage levels, earthing and protection
- Check motor starters, contactors, relays, overload relays, MCBs, MCCBs, fuses
- Perform basic checks of mechanical equipment such as fans, blowers, dampers, valves, couplings, gearboxes, bearings and rotating equipment.
Travel and Working Conditions
- The role requires frequent travel to customer sites across India.
- Site assignments may continue for several days or weeks depending on project requirements.
- The candidate may be required to work at steel plants, process plants, factories and construction or commissioning sites.
- Work may involve exposure to heat, dust, noise and operating industrial equipment.
- The candidate must be medically fit for industrial site work and the use of personal protective equipment.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
