Job Summary:
The Workshop Manager is responsible for managing the complete service workshop operations, ensuring high-quality repairs, customer satisfaction, efficient manpower utilization, revenue growth, and compliance with company standards and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:1. Workshop Operations
- Manage day-to-day workshop activities.
- Ensure timely vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Monitor workshop productivity and efficiency.
- Allocate work to technicians based on skill level.
- Ensure proper job card management and timely job closure.
2. Team Management
- Supervise Service Advisors, Technicians, Helpers, and Workshop Staff.
- Conduct daily morning meetings and job allocation.
- Train and motivate the workshop team.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, and performance.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate skill development.
3. Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Handle customer complaints and technical issues effectively.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).
4. Quality Control
- Ensure repairs are completed as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform final quality inspection before vehicle delivery.
- Reduce repeat repairs and warranty rejections.
- Monitor workshop cleanliness and 5S implementation.
5. Revenue & Business Development
- Achieve monthly labor revenue targets.
- Increase workshop sales through value-added services.
- Promote AMC, extended warranty, accessories, and genuine spare parts.
- Monitor technician productivity and workshop profitability.
6. Spare Parts Coordination
- Coordinate with the Parts Department for timely spare availability.
- Minimize vehicle waiting time due to parts shortages.
- Ensure proper parts usage and inventory control.
7. Warranty Management
- Ensure correct warranty claim documentation.
- Monitor warranty claim approvals and rejections.
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer warranty policies.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure workplace safety standards are followed.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and company regulations.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections.
9. Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly workshop performance reports.
- Track KPIs such as:
- Workshop Revenue
- Technician Productivity
- Technician Efficiency
- Bay Utilization
- Customer Satisfaction (CSI)
- Repeat Repair Rate
- Warranty Claim Status
- Service Load
- Vehicle Delivery Time
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in an automobile service workshop.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.

Working Conditions
