Role Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the bar, ensuring excellent guest experience, maximizing sales, controlling costs, maintaining inventory, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all licensing and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
* Oversee daily bar operations and ensure smooth service.
* Maintain high standards of beverage quality, presentation, and service.
* Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are followed.
* Handle guest complaints and resolve service issues promptly.
Team Management
* Recruit, train, and supervise bartenders and bar stewards.
* Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance.
* Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
* Maintain discipline and professional grooming standards.
Inventory & Cost Control
* Monitor liquor, beer, wine, and mixer inventory.
* Conduct daily/weekly stock audits.
* Control wastage, pilferage, and breakages.
* Coordinate with suppliers for procurement and stock replenishment.
* Ensure proper storage of all beverages.
Sales & Revenue Growth
* Develop cocktail menus and promotional offers.
* Upsell premium beverages and increase average guest spend.
* Analyze sales reports and identify growth opportunities.
* Coordinate with marketing team for bar events and promotions.
Compliance
* Ensure compliance with excise laws and licensing requirements.
* Verify legal drinking age and responsible alcohol service.
* Maintain records required by authorities.
* Ensure POS and billing procedures are followed accurately.
Required Qualifications
* Graduate or Diploma in Hospitality preferred.
* 3–5 years of experience in bar operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, cocktails, and bar trends.
* Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management.
