Key Responsibilities
1. Workplace Safety Implementation
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures across all departments.
- Monitor shop floor safety in Moulding, Packing, Maintenance, Toolroom, Assembly, Utility areas.
- Ensure use of PPE (Helmet, Safety Shoes, Gloves, Ear Plugs, Apron etc.).
- Conduct daily plant safety rounds and report unsafe acts/conditions.
2. Work Permit Management
- Issue and monitor Safety Work Permits for:
- Height work
- Hot work (welding, gas cutting)
- Electrical work
- Confined space entry
- Drilling or modification in injection moulding machines
- Ensure all necessary precautions are taken before work starts.
3. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification
- Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Identify unsafe conditions in:
- Injection moulding machines
- Hydraulic systems
- Chillers & compressors
- Electrical panels
- Material handling areas
- Suggest corrective and preventive actions.
4. Accident Investigation & Reporting
- Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents.
- Prepare root cause analysis reports.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accident and injury records.
5. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Factory Act
- State Pollution Control norms
- Fire & Safety regulations
- Coordinate safety audits and inspections.
- Maintain safety registers and documentation.
6. Fire & Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct fire drills and evacuation drills.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms are functional.
- Train employees on emergency response procedures.
7. Safety Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction training for new employees & contractors.
- Provide toolbox talks to production and maintenance teams.
- Promote 5S and safe work culture.
8. Contractor Safety Management
- Monitor contractor activities.
- Ensure contractors follow safety guidelines.
Verify safety compliance before starting maintenance work.
