Role Overview
You will be responsible for managing your continental kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and take full ownership of your continental kitchen
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with the restaurant's recipes, standards, and portion guidelines
- Supervise and mentor Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants within your section
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes leaving your station
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with GCC food regulations
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimize wastage within your section
- Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials, and new dish creation in collaboration with senior team
- Ensure all mise en place is completed accurately and on time for each service
- Step up and assist other sections during peak periods as required
- Report maintenance issues, equipment faults, and stock shortages
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1–2 years at Chef de Partie level
- Culinary diploma or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines and modern cooking techniques
- Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or fine dining establishment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Team player with strong leadership and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Prior GCC experience is an advantage
