Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Commi 1 – Bakery & Confectionery at Délifrance India, located in East Bengaluru.
The Commi 2 will assist the Pastry Chef and senior kitchen team in the preparation and production of a variety of bakery and confectionery items, ensuring adherence to Délifrance quality standards and recipes. The role will involve hands-on participation in the production of cakes, pastries, desserts, and designer cakes, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of cakes, pastries, desserts, and confectionery products as per Délifrance standards.
- Support the team in cake finishing, icing, frosting, glazing, garnishing, and basic designer cake decoration.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning of all bakery products.
- Prepare ingredients and mise en place for daily production requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
- Assist in stock rotation and proper storage of bakery ingredients and finished products.
- Work collaboratively with the pastry and bakery team to ensure timely production and service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Basic understanding of bakery and confectionery production techniques.
- Knowledge of cakes, pastries, desserts, and designer cake preparation.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment, ingredients, and finishing techniques.
- Good hygiene and cleanliness practices.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating quality bakery products.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks when required.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates from Bakery, Pastry, or Confectionery backgrounds are preferred.
- Experience in cakes, pastries, designer cakes, and dessert production will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in a professional bakery, pastry kitchen, café, or hotel is preferred.
- Culinary education or certification in Bakery & Confectionery is desirable but not mandatory.
