We are seeking a competent and proactive Safety Engineer (Civil) to manage and implement safety systems at large construction sites involving deep basements, multi-level podiums, parking areas, and high-rise structures.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in enforcing EHS policies, conducting safety audits, training site personnel, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety standards to achieve a zero-incident workplace.
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. Site Safety Management-Develop, implement, and monitor EHS plans and procedures specific to project activities such as excavation, form work, concreting, scaffolding, and high-rise works.
* Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions, and ensure timely corrective actions.
* Monitor and control basement and high-rise work hazards, including confined space entry, height work, crane lifting, and material handling.
* Ensure all site personnel strictly adhere to PPE compliance, safety signage, and barricading requirements.
2. Risk Assessment & Audits- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all critical activities.
* Conduct internal safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures.
* Prepare and submit monthly safety reports, inspection checklists, and safety statistics to management and clients.
3. Training & Awareness- Organize safety induction programs for all new workers and subcontractor staff.
* Conduct regular toolbox talks, fire drills, and emergency preparedness training.
* Promote safety awareness and develop a positive safety culture among all site teams.
4. Legal & Statutory Compliance- Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations, labor laws, and environmental norms.
* Maintain and update statutory safety records, licenses, and permits (e.g., scaffolding, lifting equipment, etc.).
* Coordinate with external agencies, government inspectors, and clients’ safety representatives during audits or visits.
5. Reporting & Documentation-Maintain all EHS documentation, including daily reports, incident logs, PPE issue records, and inspection checklists.
* Report and analyze near misses, first aid cases, and lost time injuries (LTI) with corrective action plans.
* Ensure timely submission of EHS performance reports to the Project Head and EHS Department.
