Studio Underground is a leading creative production house specializing in government documentaries, television commercials, promotional films, motion graphics, corporate films, and digital content. We work with various government departments and organizations to create impactful visual stories.
About Role: We are looking for a Production Intern who is eager to learn and actively participate in every stage of film and video production — from pre-production planning and on-ground shoots to post-production and final delivery.
The intern will work closely with the Producer, Director, Production Team and Post-Production Team , gaining practical experience across the complete production workflow.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Production
Assist in developing production plans, schedules and shoot Requirements.
Support research, scripting and production planning.
Prepare call sheets, shot lists and production checklists.
Assist in arranging equipment, props, and other production Requirements.
Help with travel, accommodation, transportation and logistics planning.
Maintain production documents and records.
Production / Shoot
Assist the production team during shoots and ensure smooth on-ground coordination.
Coordinate with crew members, artists and locations.
Help manage production equipment and other shoot Requirements.
Assist the Creative Head and Assistant Director wherever required.
Ensure the shoot schedule and production plan are followed.
Handle on-ground production tasks and troubleshoot basic production issues.
Be comfortable travelling for shoots and working on outdoor/location-based productions.
Footage Management & Tagging
Organise and systematically manage raw footage after every shoot.
Tag and categorise footage according to project, date, location, scene, subject, interviewee, shot type and other relevant parameters.
Maintain proper folder structures and naming conventions for footage.
Create and maintain footage logs and shot lists.
Identify and mark important/select footage for editors.
Ensure footage is properly backed up and transferred to the post-production team.
Assist editors in quickly locating required footage during the editing process.
Post-Production
Coordinate with editors, motion graphics artists, sound designers, colourists and other post-production teams.
Maintain and organise footage, project files and production assets.
Assist in edits, revisions and client feedback.
Coordinate the movement of projects from rough cut to final delivery.
Help prepare videos in required formats, resolutions and aspect ratios.
Required Skills & Qualities
Strong interest in film, video and media production .
Good communication and coordination skills.
Highly organised and detail-oriented.
Proactive and willing to take initiative.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and production pressure.
Problem-solving attitude.
Basic understanding of filmmaking and production workflow.
Comfortable with field work, travel and long shoot days.
Basic knowledge of editing/post-production is an advantage.
Working knowledge of MS Office / Google Workspace is preferred.
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who wants to understand how a film is actually made—from the first idea and planning meeting to the shoot, edit, final approval and delivery.
This role is ideal for a candidate who is hands-on, energetic, responsible and willing to learn every aspect of production.
Education
Degree/Diploma in Mass Communication, Film & Television, Media Studies, Production, Journalism or a related field is preferred.
Freshers and candidates with relevant academic/project experience can apply.
