About the Role
We are seeking a Psychologist Intern to support the on-ground and programmatic implementation of SAATH, a mental wellness initiative designed in response to the growing need for preventive mental health systems in educational institutions.
The intern will work closely with psychologists, program coordinators, and school/college stakeholders to assist in:
· wellness screening & documentation,
· psychoeducation delivery,
· referral pathways,
· training support for staff,
· and rollout of SAATH-aligned wellbeing tools.
This internship is ideal for students/recent graduates looking for real-world exposure in developmental mental health, school psychology, preventive counselling systems, and mental health program implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1) SAATH Program Implementation Support
· Assist in implementation of the SAATH framework:
Support, Awareness, Acceptance, Therapy & Healing.
· Support onboarding and engagement of partner institutions (schools / colleges).
· Coordinate with internal teams for roll-out of digital/structured wellness resources (“Therapedia” ecosystem).
2) Student Wellness Support & Documentation
· Assist in basic screening, intake, and mental wellness documentation (under supervision).
· Support safe and confidential workflows for identifying students at risk.
· Help maintain anonymized datasets, case logs, and program dashboards (non-clinical only unless authorized).
3) Psychoeducation & Awareness Activities
· Support delivery of awareness sessions for students/teachers/parents (stress, anxiety, exam pressure, bullying, emotional regulation etc.).
· Contribute to creating stigma-free messaging that frames help-seeking as a strength and right.
4) Teacher & Stakeholder Support
· Assist in training facilitation support for teachers/staff (recognizing signs, escalation steps, early intervention).
· Support building institution-level wellbeing workflows aligned with Supreme Court expectations for institutional responsibility.
5) Reporting & Program Evaluation
· Support monitoring impact indicators (reach, sessions conducted, referrals, engagement, feedback).
· Assist in compiling reports/presentations for leadership and partner institutions.
· Contribute insights for improving tool usability and adoption.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong foundation in psychology principles, developmental psychology, basic counselling skills.
- Excellent communication (English + regional language is a plus).
- Comfort working with young adults and school systems.
- High ethical standards: confidentiality, consent, sensitivity.
- Ability to write documentation clearly and objectively.
- Interest in preventive mental health & scalable wellness programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Students / freshers pursuing or completed:
- BA/BSc Psychology
- MA/MSc Psychology
- Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology (preferred)
- Applied Psychology / School Psychology
- Must be available for internship duration (typically 3–6 months)
Benefits
· Internship Stipend: ₹8,000 per month.
