General Manager – Rooms & Resort Operations
Job Summary
The General Manager – Rooms & Resort is responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and financial performance of the resort, with a strong focus on rooms division and guest experience. This role ensures the highest standards of service, safety, and profitability while aligning operations with the resort’s brand values and strategic goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate department heads and teams across Rooms, Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, Security, and Guest Services
- Foster a culture of exceptional guest service, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure ongoing training and development
Rooms & Resort Operations
- Oversee all rooms-related operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, and Guest Relations
- Ensure optimal room inventory management, occupancy, and rate strategies in coordination with Revenue Management
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation across the resort
Guest Experience
- Ensure consistent delivery of outstanding guest experiences and service recovery
- Handle VIP guests, special requests, and escalated guest concerns professionally and efficiently
- Monitor guest feedback, reviews, and satisfaction scores; implement improvement plans
Financial & Business Performance
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operational plans
- Control operating costs while maximizing revenue and profitability
- Analyze financial reports, KPIs, and operational metrics to drive performance
Sales, Marketing & Revenue Support
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to support promotions, packages, and group business
- Ensure rooms division alignment with revenue strategies and demand forecasts
- Support brand positioning and market competitiveness
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, legal regulations, health & safety, and labor laws
- Oversee emergency procedures, security protocols, and risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct regular audits and inspections
Owner & Stakeholder Relations
- Act as the primary liaison with owners, corporate offices, and brand representatives
- Prepare and present operational and financial reports
- Support long-term asset value and capital planning initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive hospitality experience, including senior leadership roles in resorts or large hotels
- Strong background in Rooms Division management
- Proven financial, operational, and people leadership skills
