General Manager – Jewellery Retail Operations & Growth

Compensation: ₹12,00,000 fixed annual salary, paid monthly, plus a 3% profit-linked incentive under agreed terms.
About the opportunity
Valummel Jewellery operates gold and diamond showrooms in Sulthan Bathery and Gundlupete. We are seeking a hands-on General Manager to strengthen both showrooms, grow our customer base, improve inventory productivity, and prepare the business for further showroom expansion.
This opportunity suits an accomplished jewellery Showroom Manager, Area Manager, or Cluster Manager ready to take broader business responsibility and work directly with the owners.
Key responsibilities
- Assess both showrooms and identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability, customer experience, and operations.
- Develop and execute showroom-specific growth plans.
- Manage inventory planning, stock ageing, replenishment, and transfers between showrooms.
- Lead, coach, and develop showroom teams with clear responsibilities and targets.
- Strengthen customer retention, referrals, bridal appointments, and follow-up.
- Use Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and local campaigns to generate enquiries and convert them into showroom visits and sales.
- Encourage and guide staff participation in product videos, collection launches, and customer education.
- Maintain reliable reporting, inventory controls, and pricing discipline.
- Evaluate new showroom opportunities and develop practical expansion plans.
Candidate requirements
- Substantial gold and diamond jewellery retail experience, including responsibility for a showroom or multiple stores.
- A demonstrable record of improving sales, profitability, inventory movement, or team performance.
- Strong understanding of jewellery products, customer buying behaviour, and showroom operations.
- Fluent Malayalam required; Kannada proficiency is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Wayanad or North Kerala markets preferred.
- Willingness to work in Sulthan Bathery and travel regularly to Gundlupete. Candidates willing to relocate are welcome.
- Comfortable using sales reports, spreadsheets, and retail billing or inventory systems.
Social media experience
We particularly welcome candidates who have personally created or directed jewellery content, managed showroom campaigns, or converted social media and WhatsApp enquiries into purchases. Please share examples and explain your contribution.
Performance expectations
The role includes structured reviews at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days. Initial priorities are business diagnosis, baseline validation, and implementation of improvements. Measurable commercial targets will be agreed within the first 45 days, with progress reviewed against the agreed timelines.
