Position: Lathe Machine Operator
Job Summary
The Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for operating conventional or CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The operator ensures safe machine operation, maintains productivity, and delivers defect-free components within the specified time.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional or CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
- Set up the machine with the required tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters.
- Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, and grooving operations.
- Measure finished components using Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Inspect components to ensure they meet dimensional and quality specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the machine clean.
- Report machine breakdowns or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow company safety rules, 5S practices, and quality standards.
- Minimize material wastage and improve productivity.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality departments to meet production targets.
Required Qualifications
- ITI – Turner / Machinist (Preferred)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- SSLC/HSC with relevant lathe machine operating experience
Required Skills
- Knowledge of conventional and/or CNC lathe operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Understanding of tolerances, fits, and surface finish requirements.
- Basic knowledge of preventive machine maintenance.
- Good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Experience
- Freshers: ITI/Diploma candidates willing to learn may apply.
- Experienced: 1–5 years of experience in operating conventional or CNC lathe machines is preferred.

- Production output as per target.
- First-pass quality and rejection rate.
- Machine utilization and downtime.
- On-time completion of assigned jobs.
- Compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Proper maintenance of machine and work area.
Working Conditions
- Factory/Manufacturing environment.
- Standing for extended periods during machine operation.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, ear protection, and safety glasses.
- Willingness to work in shifts and overtime as required.
Salary
- As per company standards and based on qualifications and experience.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
