PPC Engineer (Production Planning & Control)

Experience: 3–5 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Job Summary
A PPC (Production Planning & Control) Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling production activities to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Production Planning
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and project requirements.
- Develop production schedules to achieve delivery targets.
- Coordinate with sales, design, procurement, and production teams for smooth workflow.
Production Control
- Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to planned schedules.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure efficient material flow.
Material Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with the purchase and stores departments to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and raise material requirements in advance.
- Follow up on shortages and procurement status.
Capacity Planning
- Analyze machine and manpower capacity requirements.
- Optimize resource utilization to improve productivity.
- Balance workloads across different production departments.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare production reports, MIS reports, and progress updates.
- Track production performance against targets.
- Maintain production records and documentation.
Coordination & Follow-up
- Liaise with manufacturing, quality, logistics, and procurement teams.
- Ensure timely completion of production activities and dispatch schedules.
- Follow up on pending jobs and expedite critical orders.
Process Improvement
- Suggest improvements to enhance productivity and reduce lead time.
- Implement production planning best practices.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
