Job Description for Senior ServiceNow Developer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You should have a strong background in software development and a good understanding of IT service management processes. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow platform to include modifications of applications, forms, workflows, interfaces, and any other customization required to support IT service management processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Configure and maintain ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, etc.
- Develop and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other systems using web services, MID Servers, email, etc.
- Perform unit testing and debugging; troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain technical documentation related to the ServiceNow platform configuration, design, and implementation.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior developers or team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of X years of experience as a ServiceNow developer, with at least X years working with ServiceNow platform.
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow development best practices, including coding standards, security best practices, and integration techniques.
- Experience with JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, and other web development languages and technologies.
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, etc.
- Experience with ServiceNow REST and SOAP web services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification in one or more modules.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with ITIL framework and ITSM processes.
