About the Role
Lighthouse Communities Foundation is looking for a passionate and energetic Spoken English Trainer to empower underserved youth through high-quality English language training and employability support. The role involves delivering engaging learning experiences, mentoring students, enhancing job readiness, and contributing to the overall success of the Lighthouse Program.
The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, skilled facilitator, and youth mentor who is committed to creating positive social impact through education and livelihood development.
Key Responsibilities
English Training Delivery
- Deliver the Spoken English curriculum as per the prescribed schedule, methodology, and quality standards.
- Facilitate interactive and engaging classroom sessions that build learners' communication skills and confidence.
- Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and classroom activities in alignment with program guidelines.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and learner-friendly environment.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and learning progress to achieve monthly program targets.
- Conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and offer individualized mentoring to support student growth.
- Continuously evaluate and improve training approaches to enhance learning outcomes.
Employability & Job Readiness Support
- Conduct resume-building workshops, mock interviews, and job-readiness sessions.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and personalized support for learners requiring additional guidance.
- Help students develop workplace communication skills and professional confidence.
- Support placement-related activities in coordination with the program team.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance data, and progress reports using Excel, Google Sheets, and internal MIS platforms.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of training activities and learner outcomes.
- Track key performance indicators and share regular updates with the Course Manager.
- Maintain program documentation and support data-driven decision-making.
Program & Centre Support
- Support student mobilization and community outreach activities to drive enrollments.
- Follow up with prospective learners and motivate youth to participate in the Lighthouse Program.
- Assist in planning and executing workshops, events, donor visits, and stakeholder engagements.
- Document success stories, program achievements, and event highlights for organizational reports.
- Maintain relationships with alumni and support alumni engagement activities, assessments, and networking events.
- Contribute to administrative and operational requirements of the Lighthouse Centre as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in English language training, teaching, youth development, or employability programs preferred.
- Freshers with strong communication skills and relevant teaching or facilitation experience are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi, and the local language.
- Strong classroom facilitation, presentation, and learner engagement skills.
- Experience managing classroom groups of 25–30 learners.
- Knowledge of employability skills training, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and MIS reporting systems.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and counseling abilities.
- Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about youth development and social impact.
- Willingness to travel as required for program activities.
