Job Summary
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all inbound and outbound logistics operations. The role ensures timely dispatches, cost-effective transportation, inventory movement, documentation compliance, and coordination with production, stores, procurement, sales, and customers to achieve seamless supply chain operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesLogistics Planning
- Plan daily dispatch schedules.
- Ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
- Coordinate vehicle availability.
- Optimize transportation routes.
- Reduce logistics costs without affecting service.
Dispatch Management
- Ensure timely dispatch of customer orders.
- Verify dispatch documents before shipment.
- Coordinate loading activities.
- Monitor dispatch status until delivery.
- Handle urgent and priority shipments.
Transportation Management
- Develop transporter network.
- Negotiate freight rates.
- Evaluate transporter performance.
- Resolve transportation issues.
- Maintain transportation records.
Warehouse & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate with Stores for material availability.
- Ensure FIFO wherever applicable.
- Monitor stock movement.
- Prevent dispatch delays due to inventory shortages.
- Coordinate return material processing.
