Production Shift In-Charge – Manhole Cover Division (Foundry)
1. ROLE OVERVIEW Role Title Production Shift In-Charge – Foundry Operations (Ductile Iron / Cast Iron Manhole Cover Production) Company JPK Metallics Pvt. Ltd. Location Uluberia, Howrah, West Bengal Role Nature This is a hands-on shop-floor production role, not a reporting-only or supervisory-only position. The Production Shift In-Charge will be responsible for independently controlling production activities during the assigned shift and ensuring that the production plan given by the Production Head is executed according to required quantity, quality, process parameters, manpower deployment and timelines.
The candidate will: ● Take complete responsibility for production activities during the assigned shift. ● Execute daily and shift-wise production plans. ● Control moulding, pouring, casting and related production activities. ● Ensure proper utilization of manpower and machines. ● Monitor production output against shift targets. ● Maintain process parameters and production discipline. ● Identify production problems and take immediate corrective action. ● Control rejection and minimize process-related casting defects. ● Coordinate with Melting, Sand Plant, Pattern, Maintenance and Quality teams. ● Ensure smooth material and mould flow without unnecessary stoppages. ● Report abnormalities, breakdowns, rejection and production shortfalls to the Production Head. ● Ensure safety, housekeeping and discipline throughout the shift. ● Guide Production Supervisors, operators and shop-floor workers. Primary Goal Ensure that the assigned shift achieves the planned production of high-quality ductile iron / cast iron manhole covers and related castings with: ● Required output ● Correct process control ● Minimum rejection ● Proper manpower utilization ● Minimum machine downtime ● Required casting quality ● Safe working practices ● Smooth shift-to-shift handover 2. IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience Required ● Minimum 4–6 years of practical experience in foundry / casting production preferred. ● Candidates should have hands-on experience in production or shift operations. ● Previous experience handling a production shift, group of operators or shop-floor workers is strongly preferred. ● Experience in ductile iron / SG iron casting is strongly preferred. ● Experience in manhole cover manufacturing will be a major advantage. Strong Exposure Required To ● Ductile Iron / SG Iron Casting ● Cast Iron Casting ● Manhole cover / engineering casting production ● Green sand moulding ● Jolt squeeze moulding machines ● Production planning and shift execution ● Pouring operations ● Sand control ● Casting defect identification ● Shop-floor manpower handling Mandatory Technical Exposure Candidate should have practical exposure to: ● Ductile Iron casting process ● Mould preparation ● Green sand preparation and usage ● Moulding processes ● Core setting where applicable ● Ladle and pouring practices ● Mould closing ● Mould movement and line control ● Casting defect identification ● Production cycle monitoring ● Basic understanding of melting and treatment ● Basic understanding of pattern and methoding ● Production rejection analysis Knowledge of 500/7 SG Iron Grade / applicable ASTM or equivalent specification
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
