Elevator Maintenance Technician Department: Service & Maintenance | Location: Bengaluru (with travel to client sites)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on elevators and lifts as per scheduled service contracts
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in elevator systems (motors, controllers, wiring, doors, sensors, cables, pulleys)
- Respond promptly to breakdown and emergency callouts, including entrapment situations, following safety protocols
- Install new elevator units and upgrade/modernize existing systems as per project specifications
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with relevant elevator codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and parts usage reports
- Communicate clearly with clients/building staff about work performed, findings, and follow-up needs
- Coordinate with the sales and site teams on site-readiness, upcoming installations, and AMC renewals
- Maintain and organize service vehicle, tools, and spare parts inventory
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 2+ years of experience in elevator installation, maintenance, or repair (freshers with strong electrical/mechanical aptitude may also be considered for trainee roles)
- Working knowledge of elevator control systems, wiring diagrams, and basic PLC/relay logic
- Comfortable working at heights, in shafts, and in confined spaces with appropriate safety gear
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to client sites across the city/region
- Basic proficiency with smartphones/tablets for logging service reports (training provided on any internal tools)
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with specific elevator brands/technologies used in commercial or high-rise buildings
- Familiarity with elevator safety codes and statutory inspection requirements
- Good communication skills for client interaction and coordination with the sales team
- A calm, safety-conscious approach under pressure, especially during emergency callouts
