Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Chief Engineer to take complete charge of the engineering, machine maintenance, electrical systems, and technical operations of our bedsheet printing plant.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in textile printing/manufacturing machinery, electrical maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and managing a plant engineering team.
The person will be responsible for ensuring that all machines and plant systems operate efficiently with minimum downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for plant engineering and maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot textile/bedsheet printing machines and related equipment
- Handle electrical maintenance of the entire plant
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Minimize machine downtime and ensure maximum machine availability
- Identify recurring machine/electrical problems and implement permanent solutions
- Supervise and manage the engineering and maintenance team
- Maintain records of machine breakdowns, maintenance schedules and spare parts
- Plan inventory and procurement of critical spare parts
- Coordinate with machine vendors and external technicians when required
- Ensure proper functioning of electrical panels, motors, drives, compressors, generators and other plant utilities
- Monitor plant equipment performance and suggest improvements
- Ensure compliance with basic electrical and industrial safety standards
- Coordinate with production to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing
- Assist management in plant planning, expansion, machine installation and commissioning
- Control maintenance costs and improve overall plant efficiency
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in plant engineering/maintenance
- Experience in textile printing, textile processing, textile manufacturing or similar industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and machinery
- Hands-on troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance experience
- Experience managing a maintenance/engineering team
- Ability to independently take charge of plant maintenance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems
- Ability to coordinate with production, vendors and management
- Willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing plant environment
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience working with digital textile printing machines, rotary/screen printing machines, dryers/steamers, compressors, motors, VFDs, electrical panels and other textile-processing equipment will be preferred.
Salary
₹50,000- ₹100,000 per month, depending on experience, technical expertise and overall suitability for the role.
