Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Source fabrics from approved suppliers based on buyer requirements and production needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with fabric mills, vendors, and suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, lead times, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, Planning, and Quality teams to ensure timely fabric availability.
- Follow up on fabric developments, sample submissions, approvals, and bulk orders.
- Monitor fabric quality, testing requirements, and compliance standards.
- Track fabric inventory and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Maintain sourcing records, supplier databases, and procurement documentation.
- Identify new suppliers and sourcing opportunities to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Ensure timely resolution of fabric-related issues and supplier concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Apparel Management, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in fabric sourcing, procurement, or merchandising within the garment industry.
- Strong knowledge of woven and knitted fabrics, fabric development, and textile processes.
- Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Work Location & Travel Requirement:
Your workplace will be Salem. However, based on business requirements and organizational needs, you may be required to travel and work at any of the Company's business units, factories, customer locations, or the Head Office in Chennai from time to time.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
