Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Aluminium Foundry Die Designer with 10 to 12 years of experience in Pressure Die Casting (PDC/HPDC) die design and development. The candidate should have strong knowledge in aluminium casting processes, die structure design, product development, and tooling optimization for automotive and engineering components.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design and develop Aluminium Pressure Die Casting (HPDC/PDC) dies for automotive and engineering components
- Prepare 2D & 3D die designs using CAD software
- Develop die layouts, core systems, cooling lines, gating, runner, and overflow systems
- Coordinate with production and tool room teams during die manufacturing and trials
- Analyze product feasibility and optimize die design for productivity and quality improvement
- Handle die corrections, modifications, and process improvement activities
- Conduct die trial analysis and reduce casting defects such as porosity, blow holes, shrinkage, and flash
- Ensure proper die life improvement and maintenance support
- Coordinate with customers for new product development and engineering changes
- Prepare BOM, process sheets, and technical documentation
- Support cost reduction and cycle time improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge in Aluminium HPDC/PDC die design
- Experience in automotive die casting components
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG NX, CATIA, or Creo
- Knowledge in gating system, cooling system, and flow analysis
- Experience in die trial and troubleshooting activities
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Knowledge in casting defects analysis and correction methods
- Good communication and coordination skills
Qualification
- Diploma / B.E / B.Tech – Mechanical / Tool Engineering / Production
