Job Summary:
The Head of the Department (HOD) – Computer Science Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the academic, administrative, and research activities of the CSE department. The role involves ensuring quality education, curriculum development, faculty management, student development, industry collaboration, and departmental growth in alignment with institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities:Academic Responsibilities:
- Plan and monitor the academic activities of the department.
- Ensure effective delivery of curriculum as per university/AICTE norms.
- Allocate subjects, workload, and responsibilities among faculty members.
- Monitor teaching quality, lesson plans, attendance, and student performance.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and practical learning approaches.
- Organize seminars, workshops, FDPs, guest lectures, and technical events.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage departmental operations and maintain discipline within the department.
- Prepare departmental reports, timetables, budgets, and academic calendars.
- Coordinate accreditation, audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Maintain departmental records and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
- Conduct departmental meetings and review faculty performance regularly.
Faculty & Student Development:
- Mentor and guide faculty members for academic and professional growth.
- Support students in academic counseling, projects, internships, and placements.
- Encourage research activities, publications, patents, and innovation among faculty and students.
- Address student grievances and ensure a positive academic environment.
Industry & Research Collaboration:
- Develop industry partnerships for internships, training, and placement opportunities.
- Encourage collaboration with industries, research organizations, and academic institutions.
- Promote outcome-based education and skill development initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology or related specialization preferred.
- M.Tech/M.E. in CSE or relevant field with excellent academic record.
- Qualifications should be as per AICTE/UGC/university norms.
Experience:
- Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience in higher education institutions.
- Prior experience in academic administration or leadership roles preferred.
- Experience in NBA/NAAC accreditation processes will be an added advantage.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sound knowledge of emerging technologies and engineering education practices.
