At Brew’d, we are hiring a Junior Barista to lead coffee operations, drive bar quality, and train the team.
This role combines craft, consistency, team leadership, and guest experience. You will play a direct role in setting Brew’d’s coffee standards and ensuring every cup that leaves the bar is perfect.
Key Responsibilities
Coffee Quality & Bar Operations
Own daily bar setup, espresso calibration, and recipe adherence for all beverages
Dial in beans, manage extraction, and maintain taste consistency across shifts
Execute latte art to Brew’d standards even during peak rush
Ensure bar presentation, cleanliness, and speed of service at all times
Guest Handling & Service
Act as the first point of contact at the bar for all coffee-related queries
Recommend brews, explain origins, and guide guests through the menu
Handle custom orders, dietary requests, and peak-hour pressure smoothly
Ensure no guest concern on coffee quality is left unattended
Training & Team Leadership
Learn Brew’d SOPs, drink specs, and workflow
Run bar briefings before shift and allocate stations for efficiency
Lead by example during service — first on bar, last to clean
Monitor bar discipline, hygiene, and adherence to checklists
Inventory & Equipment Management
Track daily usage of beans, milk, syrups, cups, and raise indents on time
Maintain and update stock logs (Excel/Sheets) for wastage and reorders
Clean, backflush, and do basic troubleshooting of machines and grinders
Coordinate with service vendors to ensure equipment uptime
R&D & Cost Control
Support seasonal drink development and testing with management
Maintain brew logs and suggest improvements on recipes and efficiency
Track COGS on bar and support month-end cost reporting
Conduct weekly checks to ensure bar readiness and maintenance standards
✅ Requirements
Minimum 1-2 years hands-on experience as a barista — specialty coffee preferred
Expert with espresso machines, grinders, manual brews: V60, Aeropress, Cold Brew
Consistent latte art under pressure: hearts, rosettas, tulips
Strong palate and ability to troubleshoot extraction daily
Fluent in Tamil & English (mandatory)
Ability to manage rush, stay organized, and follow structured processes
Basic understanding of FSSAI hygiene, stock, and bar operations
Willingness to work early mornings (6 AM) and late nights (11 PM) on rota basis
⭐ Good to Have
Experience in high-volume cafes, 150+ cups/day
Familiarity with POS, Excel, inventory tools
Understanding of bean sourcing, roast profiles, and coffee psychology
Ability to communicate in Hindi
