Job Description – Radiation Oncologist
Location: Varanasi / Prayagraj
Job Summary
The Radiation Oncologist is responsible for evaluating cancer patients, formulating evidence-based radiation treatment plans, supervising radiation therapy, managing treatment-related toxicities, and working closely with the multidisciplinary oncology team to deliver safe and effective cancer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and determine the need for radiation therapy.
- Develop personalized radiation treatment plans in collaboration with Medical Physicists and Radiation Therapists.
- Perform simulation, target volume delineation, and treatment planning.
- Supervise radiation therapy delivery and ensure treatment quality and safety.
- Monitor patients during treatment and manage radiation-related side effects.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions.
- Coordinate with Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiologists, and Pathologists for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
- Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options, expected outcomes, risks, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with AERB, NABH, and other regulatory and safety standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, CME programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Be available for emergency consultations when required.
Eligibility
- MBBS
- MD/DNB in Radiation Oncology
- Valid State Medical Council/NMC registration.
Experience
- 0–10+ years (Freshers and experienced consultants are welcome to apply.)
Skills Required
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
- Expertise in modern radiation oncology techniques.
- Excellent communication and patient counselling abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centric care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with 3DCRT, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and Brachytherapy.
- Experience using modern Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) and Oncology Information Systems (OIS).
- Experience in a multispecialty or dedicated cancer hospital is preferred.

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
