Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and other requirements for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have strong vendor management, negotiation, and procurement skills, preferably with experience in the FMCG, Herbal, Ayurvedic, Nutraceutical, Pharma, or Food manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing and procurement activities.
- Source and develop reliable vendors for raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Compare quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and maintain proper procurement records.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, R&D, and Accounts teams regarding material requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock.
- Follow up with suppliers for pending orders, delays, shortages, and quality issues.
- Evaluate supplier performance and develop alternate vendors when required.
- Ensure purchased materials meet approved quality specifications and company requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improve procurement efficiency.
- Maintain vendor documentation, purchase reports, MIS, and related records.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement.
- Experience in FMCG, Food, Herbal, Ayurvedic, Nutraceutical, Pharma, or Manufacturing will be preferred.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/software-based purchasing systems.
- Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement requirements.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
