Job Summary
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems to ensure uninterrupted business operations. The role includes preventive maintenance, emergency breakdown support, and compliance with safety and food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, cold rooms, freezers, chillers, ice machines, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
- Monitor refrigerant levels and detect refrigerant leaks.
- Replace defective components such as compressors, thermostats, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, motors, and electrical controls.
- Maintain optimal operating temperatures for food storage equipment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of refrigeration systems.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment history records.
- Coordinate with outlet managers to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company SOPs.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs or replacements where necessary.
- Support installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls across restaurant locations.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Certification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is preferred.
- Valid electrical license (if applicable) is an advantage.
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, cloud kitchens, hospitals, or retail food outlets is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with cold rooms, walk-in freezers, display chillers, and HVAC systems.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and HVAC systems.
- Electrical troubleshooting and wiring.
- Refrigerant charging and leak detection.
- Compressor overhaul and replacement.
- Preventive maintenance planning.
- Reading electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
- Basic plumbing related to refrigeration systems.
- Familiarity with refrigerants such as R134a, R404A, R410A, and R32.

- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.

- Ability to work under pressure during equipment breakdowns.

Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Frequent travel to restaurant outlets.
- Ability to lift equipment and work in confined spaces, cold rooms, and at heights when necessary.
- Availability for emergency breakdown support.

- Follow all company safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
