About the Role
Divine Grace Hospital is looking for a skilled, reliable, and quick-to-respond Maintenance Technician (Electrician cum Plumber) to join our Facility Management Team.
In a multi-speciality hospital, uninterrupted power and pristine plumbing are critical to patient safety, hygiene, and daily operations. In this dual-role, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep, preventive maintenance, and emergency repair of both the electrical and plumbing systems across our hospital campus.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hospital electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, distribution boards (DBs), and switchgears.
- Ensure 24/7 seamless power backup by assisting in the operation and maintenance of generators (DG sets) and UPS systems, especially for critical areas like ICUs and OTs.
- Repair or replace defective electrical fixtures, plug points, and basic non-medical appliances in patient wards and staff areas.
Plumbing Maintenance:
- Perform routine checks and immediate repairs on water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary fittings across all wards, washrooms, and OPDs.
- Ensure zero water leakage or logging, maintaining the strict hygiene standards required in a hospital environment.
- Monitor and maintain water pumps, overhead tanks, and assist with the basic operations of the RO plant or Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) if required.
General Facility Duties:
- Respond promptly to daily maintenance tickets and breakdown calls raised by nursing stations and administrative staff.
- Conduct daily facility rounds to identify and proactively fix potential electrical or plumbing hazards.
- Maintain a log of daily repairs, materials used, and equipment status for the Facility Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Plumbing, or a related trade.
- Licensing: A valid state electrical license or wireman certificate is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience handling both electrical and plumbing works. Previous experience in a hospital, large hotel, or commercial building is a major advantage.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both wiring and piping systems.
- Awareness of electrical safety protocols and hygienic plumbing practices.
- Readiness to work in rotational shifts (including night shifts) as hospitals require 24/7 maintenance support.
- Good physical stamina and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
