Job Description – Senior Accountant About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented senior accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and related financial activities. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
The candidate should be able to work independently, maintain accurate financial records, and coordinate with internal teams, auditors, banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and review GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Handle GST returns, reconciliations, and related documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform bank, ledger, vendor, and customer reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare invoices, payment records, debit/credit notes, and other accounting documents.
- Monitor outstanding payments and receivables and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and audit-related requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, banks, and government authorities when required.
- Ensure proper maintenance and filing of financial and statutory documents.
- Monitor expenses and assist in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Support management with accounting reports and financial information for decision-making.
Technical Requirements
Candidates should have strong working knowledge of:
- Tally ERP / Tally Prime
- MS Excel / Google Sheets
- GST & GST reconciliation
- TDS
- Income tax basics
- Bank reconciliation
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- General Ledger
- Financial reporting
- Auditing and statutory compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting and taxation practices.
- Experience handling GST, TDS, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounting activities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with import/export accounting.
- Knowledge of foreign currency transactions.
- Experience handling customs/import documentation and related accounting.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting software.
- Previous experience in a trading, manufacturing, or industrial equipment company.
