Role/Job Overview:
The Senior Executive MEL supports the MEL team in data collection, entry, quality checking, and reporting across all program pillars. This is a field-heavy role suited to a motivated early-career professional passionate about evidence-based development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Collection & Field Support
- Conduct baseline, midline, and endline surveys with beneficiaries using the mobile app
- Support field officers in administering household, ecological plot, SHG income, and sapling survival surveys
- Ensure GPS tagging and accurate beneficiary UID capture at point of collection
- Facilitate PHQ-9 and SRQ-20 mental health screenings under designated supervisor
- Maintain field visit logs, consent forms, and attendance records
Data Entry, Cleaning & Quality Assurance
- Enter, verify, and clean all field data in the CanopyOS platform daily
- Conduct data quality checks: UID linkage, duplicate detection, GPS completion, incomplete responses
- Follow up with field officers for missing or inconsistent data within 24 hours
- Support data migration from KoBoToolbox, Google Sheets, and Excel into CanopyOS
Indicator Tracking & Reporting
- Update project output and outcome indicator sheets weekly
- Prepare monthly data summaries for each program pillar
- Support the M&E Officer in quarterly progress reports and donor reporting packages
- Compile survey wave summaries — actuals vs. targets across all active instruments
Survey Design Support
- Assist in designing and testing new survey instruments on the CanopyOS platform
- Translate survey questions into Marathi and verify accuracy with field teams
- Manage scheduling and tracking of follow-up survey waves (+3 / +6 / +12 months)
Knowledge Management
- Maintain the Raintree Knowledge Base with SOPs, data collection protocols, and field guides
- Document lessons learned from field data collection
- Support quarterly MEL review meetings: data compilation and minutes
Education
Master /Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, or related field
Years of Experience
2 - 6 years of experience in data collection, field research, or program monitoring
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel — data entry, basic formulas, pivot tables
- Working knowledge of a mobile data collection tool: RBase, KoBoToolbox, ODK Collect, or similar
- Fluency/ basic in Marathi (spoken and written) — essential for field work
- Good written English for report writing and documentation
- Familiarity with MEL frameworks: Logical Framework, Theory of Change, Results Framework
- Knowledge of SPSS, R, or Python for basic data analysis
- Familiarity with GIS tools — QGIS or Google Earth Pro
Field Travel
8–12 days per month to Pune & Ratnagiri districts
