We are seeking a technical leader who combines backend systems depth with the leadership capability to build and guide high-performing engineers. This is not a bureaucratic or coordination-only management job; it is a true 50/50 builder-manager position where you will remain close to architecture, code, and production reliability while directly working alongside the founders.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Backend Scale: Architect, scale, and maintain high-throughput backend services and distributed systems for payment processing, rewards, and settlements.
- Integrations & Reliability: Design robust partner APIs, streamline reconciliation pipelines, and establish fault-tolerant exception management workflows.
- Risk & Analytics Infrastructure: Build transaction-monitoring systems, fraud detection mechanisms, and high-performance reporting and data pipelines.
- Hands-on Technical Involvement: Lead technical designs, participate actively in code reviews, debug critical incidents, and write production-grade code.
- Team Leadership & Hiring: Recruit, mentor, and foster high-agency engineers while elevating overall engineering standards and delivery velocity.
- AI-Native Operations: Champion the practical application of AI tooling across the engineering lifecycle—including automated testing, code reviews, observability, log anomaly analysis, and operational workflows.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 6–10 years of software engineering experience with demonstrable depth in backend platforms, distributed systems, or high-scale APIs.
- Active, ongoing hands-on involvement in writing production code, database optimization, cloud architecture, and systems design.
- Prior experience leading technical workstreams or mentoring and managing small engineering teams.
- Sound architectural judgment, strong operational ownership, and comfort working directly in founder-led environments.
- Familiarity with modern AI engineering tools (e.g., coding assistants, automated test generators, LLM-based workflow automation).
- Experience in payments, fintech, marketplaces, or high-concurrency consumer internet platforms is an advantage.

Pay: ₹2,037,577.06 - ₹5,033,844.49 per year
