Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, managing reconciliations, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, or local regulations).
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities.
- Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis.
- Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Implement and maintain internal controls.
Accounts Management
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and treasury activities.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
Team Support
- Mentor and guide junior accountants and accounting assistants.
- Support process improvements and system implementations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments on financial matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
