Job Description – Planning & Controls Engineer

Position Summary
The Project Planning & Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, budgets, resources, and progress to ensure successful project delivery within the approved timeline and cost. The role involves planning, scheduling, cost control, progress monitoring, risk assessment, reporting, and coordination with project stakeholders. (Mastt)
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project.
- Prepare Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), project baselines, and resource-loaded schedules.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify delays.
- Conduct critical path analysis and prepare recovery plans where required.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for schedule updates. (Proove)
Project Controls & Monitoring
- Establish project control systems for tracking cost, schedule, and performance.
- Monitor project KPIs and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Track planned versus actual progress and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain project dashboards and management reports.
- Support project management in decision-making through data analysis and forecasting. (Powerkh)
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and commitments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and cost reports.
- Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual costs.
- Assist in preparing estimates, BOQs, and cost forecasts.
- Support earned value management (EVM) and project performance analysis. (HSE Contractors)
Risk & Change Management
- Identify project risks and maintain risk registers.
- Evaluate the impact of scope changes on cost and schedule.
- Maintain change logs and assist in claims management.
- Recommend mitigation measures to minimize project risks and delays. (Proove)
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
- Maintain project records, schedules, progress reports, and control documents.
- Conduct progress review meetings and prepare MOMs.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and project requirements. (HSE Contractors)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in project planning and controls for construction projects.
- Experience in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or textile construction projects preferred.
Required Skills
- Primavera P6 and MS Project proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling and cost control.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI knowledge.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, and project management practices. (Planning Engineer FZE.)

- Schedule adherence and milestone achievement.
- Budget variance and cost control performance.
- Accuracy of project forecasts and reports.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
