As part of our expansion, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Manager who can lead our manufacturing operations and ensure world-class production standards.
Position Summary
The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing the complete manufacturing operations of electric light commercial vehicles. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, expertise in production planning, manpower management, quality coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Operations
- Plan, organize, and manage end-to-end production operations for Electric Light Commercial Vehicles.
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand.
- Ensure timely achievement of production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Optimize machine utilization and production efficiency.
Manufacturing Management
- Supervise chassis assembly, fabrication, welding, painting, battery integration, electrical assembly, and final vehicle assembly operations.
- Ensure smooth coordination between production, stores, quality, maintenance, procurement, and logistics.
- Monitor production bottlenecks and implement corrective measures.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate production supervisors, engineers, technicians, and shop-floor operators.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across production lines.
- Conduct performance reviews, skill development programs, and safety briefings.
- Build a high-performance manufacturing culture.
Production Quality
- Work closely with the Quality Department to achieve "Right First Time" manufacturing.
- Minimize rework, rejection, and production defects.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Process Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the plant.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement projects.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Reduce cycle time and manufacturing costs through process optimization.
Inventory & Material Management
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Minimize material wastage and improve inventory utilization.
- Monitor production consumables and critical inventory levels.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Ensure maximum machine uptime.
- Support equipment improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
- Promote safe manufacturing practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure statutory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and manufacturing SOPs.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare production dashboards and daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Monitor production KPIs and present performance reports to senior management.
- Analyze production data and recommend improvement strategies.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Diploma holders with exceptional manufacturing experience may also be considered.
- Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Operations Management, or Production Planning will be preferred.
Experience
- 6–8 years of full-time experience in production and manufacturing operations.
- Experience in the Electric Vehicle (EV), Automotive, Automobile Components, Commercial Vehicle, or Engineering Manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in managing assembly lines, production planning, manpower, quality coordination, and process improvements.
- Experience in scaling manufacturing operations and implementing Lean Manufacturing practices will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
