A Bakery Commis II assists in the preparation, baking, and presentation of bakery products in a hotel kitchen. The role supports senior chefs in maintaining quality standards, hygiene, and timely production of breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked items.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery items such as breads, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and desserts according to hotel recipes and standards.
- Assist senior chefs in daily mise en place and production activities.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery section following food safety standards.
- Store ingredients and finished products properly.
- Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors about shortages.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Assist in buffet setup and special event preparations when required.
- Follow hotel grooming, safety, and sanitation policies.
- Minimize wastage and maintain cost control practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
- Familiarity with bakery equipment and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and creativity.
- Culinary diploma/certificate preferred.
Experience
- Typically 1–3 years of experience in bakery or pastry section, preferably in hotels or restaurants.
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Standing for long hours in a hot kitchen environment.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
