Install, repair, and maintain the vital piping, fixtures, and appliances that supply water, and remove waste. Their core responsibilities span from laying out intricate plumbing systems in new buildings to responding to urgent, emergency repairs and conducting routine system inspections.
· Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints and building specifications to accurately plan the layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems.
· Pipefitting: Measure, cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes (e.g., copper, PVC, galvanized steel) using specialized equipment like saws, wrenches, and welding/soldering tools.
· Fixture Fitting: Install and secure plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, and water heaters.
· Appliance Connection: Connect household and industrial appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, and garbage disposals to water and drainage lines.
