Experience :- 3–7 Years (Manufacturing / Engineering Industry Preferred)
Qualification
· Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
· Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
Job Summary
The Service & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth plant operations. The role also includes supporting customers with machine installation and after-sales service whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults and carry out timely repairs.
· Install, commission, and test new machines and equipment.
· Attend machine breakdowns and minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting.
· Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
· Maintain service and maintenance records, inspection reports, and equipment history.
· Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
· Coordinate with production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
· Ensure availability of critical spare parts and raise purchase requisitions when required.
· Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
· Conduct root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and statutory requirements during maintenance work.
· Provide technical support and training to machine operators on proper equipment usage.
· Attend customer sites for installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance as required.
· Prepare detailed service reports after every customer visit.
· Coordinate with customers regarding maintenance schedules and technical support.
· Travel to customer locations whenever required for service assignments.
Required Skills
· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
· Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
· Good communication and customer handling skills.
· Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
· Basic knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation is preferred.
· Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance documentation.
· Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergency breakdowns.
