VIU Evaluation: Perform root-cause analyses on consumption anomalies, yield losses, and cost overruns, providing actionable corrective measures to shop leadership. Calculate and analyse the Value-in-Use (VIU) for diverse raw materials—including scrap, ferroalloys, virgin metals, and fluxes—to evaluate their true economic impact on melting operations.
Model Refinement: Continuously update optimization parameters, thermodynamic constraints, recovery rates, and real-time commercial pricing within the Cassotis system to reflect shop-floor realities.
Charge Mix Optimization: Utilize Cassotis linear programming and optimization models to determine the most cost-effective and metallurgically sound raw material mix for various stainless-steel grades.
Metallurgical & Operational Synergy: Work hand-in-hand with EAF/AOD/LRF/Casting operations, Quality Assurance, and Costing teams to bridge the gap between theoretical planning and practical execution.
Technical Skills
Deep technical understanding of SMS operations (Electric Arc Furnace, Argon Oxygen Decarburization, etc.), steelmaking thermodynamics, and alloy recovery behaviour.
Hands-on proficiency in Cassotis or equivalent linear programming/charge optimization software.
Strong grasp of Value-in-Use (VIU) methodology, raw material blending economics, and cost-modelling techniques.
Advanced proficiency in data analytics, MS Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP) for statistical modelling and MIS generation.
Behavioural Competencies
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving mindset with a sharp focus on cost leadership.
High attention to detail with robust auditing, data verification, and documentation habits.
